RICK’S HOUSE

Never a dull moment at our house. 🙂  It’s hard to keep things quiet to record the podcast!

We would love some feedback if you feel so led!  rick@takehimwithyou.com   we would really appreciate that.

Our goal is to encourage you and many others each week through the podcast and newsletter.

I’ve been enjoying my Canon Rebel XTi.  My friend Mike loaned me a cool Macro lens.  Check out some of the pics I have taken lately:

Better yet, come on over to my facebook account and check out my photos.  Here is a youtube video of our Joseph Coat Rose bush.

Ever had to fight discouragement?

Here are a few ways I fight it:
1.  Don’t judge your feelings, deal with them wisely.
2.  Listen to something uplifting like cool worship music.
4.  Call a friend and talk.
5.  Go bless someone who needs something.  Encourage someone else.
6.  Count ten things you are thankful for BEFORE getting out of bed in the morning.

Those things really help.

I got a new gadget called a NETBOOK.  Check out my review here on Youtube:

I play the Treks In Sci Fi Podcast promo with Rico Dostie.  This week Meds from England talks about the cool show “The prisoner”  Check it out at http://www.treksinscifi.com

WORDS OF WISDOM
Hebrews 10 (Message)

19-21So, friends, we can now—without hesitation—walk right up to God, into “the Holy Place.” Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The “curtain” into God’s presence is his body.

 22-25So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.

 26-31If we give up and turn our backs on all we’ve learned, all we’ve been given, all the truthwe now know, we repudiate Christ’s sacrifice and are left on our own to face the Judgment—and a mighty fierce judgment it will be! If the penalty for breaking the law of Moses is physical death, what do you think will happen if you turn on God’s Son, spit on the sacrifice that made you whole, and insult this most gracious Spirit? This is no light matter. God has warned us that he’ll hold us to account and make us pay. He was quite explicit: “Vengeance is mine, and I won’t overlook a thing” and “God will judge his people.” Nobody’sgetting by with anything, believe me.

 32-39Remember those early days after you first saw the light? Those were the hard times! Kicked around in public, targets of every kind of abuse—some days it was you, other days your friends. If some friends went to prison, you stuck by them. If some enemies broke in and seized your goods, you let them go with a smile, knowing they couldn’t touch your real treasure. Nothing they did bothered you, nothing set you back. So don’t throw it all away now. You were sure of yourselves then. It’s still a sure thing! But you need to stick it out, staying with God’s plan so you’ll be there for the promised completion.

   It won’t be long now, he’s on the way;
      he’ll show up most any minute.
   But anyone who is right with me thrives on loyal trust;
      if he cuts and runs, I won’t be very happy.
But we’re not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We’ll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way.

I play a promo for my friend’s podcast Waffleon.  http://waffleon.podbean.com

I then ask if you would consider supporting Amy and I in reaching all around the world with a message of hope.  We offer a weekly newsletter for only $20 a month, and give you opportunity to donate to the podcast if you feel led.  We had over 7000 visitors to the website in the month of May.  Over 1000 downloads of the programs in May.  More and more are listening and being encouraged.   If everyone that listened gave a little we would have more than enough to keep the podcast coming to you each week.  THANKS!  Visit http://www.takehimwithyou.com for more information.  Click on Donate, or on Newsletter.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

This week Amy and I interview Jen and Dave from Texas.  They share how they came to know God and what it was like to grow up in church.  Then we discuss the pros and cons of the modern day church and how it effects our relationship with Jesus.  It’s worth a listen.   The goal of the podcast this week is to discuss the good and bad experiences we have had in church.  Maybe we could all learn more about how to treat people and love God at the same time!

Please let us know what you think!  rick@takehimwithyou.com

Next week we will have part two of the interview with Dave and Jen!  It rocks, and you will love it!  Send your comments in and I will read them on the cast!  Better yet, send me some audio comments.  rick@takehimwithyou.com

I want to thank Dave and Jen for being  guests on the program.  Amy and I appreciated their honesty and openness.

Got a new pair of glasses… ah yes, Buddy Holly Geekness!  I love it!
