Words of Wisdom
1st Thessalonians Chapter 3 (Message)

^1-2So when we couldn’t stand being separated from you any longer and could find no way to visit you ourselves, we stayed in Athens and sent Timothy to get you up and about, cheering you on so you wouldn’t be discouraged by these hard times. He’s a brother and companion in the faith, God’s man in spreading the Message, preaching Christ.

 ^3-5Not that the troubles should come as any surprise to you. You’ve always known that we’re in for this kind of thing. It’s part of our calling. When we were with you, we made it quite clear that there was trouble ahead. And now that it’s happened, you know what it’s like. That’s why I couldn’t quit worrying; I had to know for myself how you were doing in the faith. I didn’t want the Tempter getting to you and tearing down everything we had built up together.

 ^6-8But now that Timothy is back, bringing this terrific report on your faith and love, we feel a lot better. It’s especially gratifying to know that you continue to think well of us, and that you want to see us as much as we want to see you! In the middle of our trouble and hard times here, just knowing how you’re doing keeps us going. Knowing that your faith is alive keeps us alive.

 ^9-10What would be an adequate thanksgiving to offer God for all the joy we experience before him because of you? We do what we can, praying away, night and day, asking for the bonus of seeing your faces again and doing what we can to help when your faith falters.

 ^11-13May God our Father himself and our Master Jesus clear the road to you! And may the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you, just as it does from us to you. May you be infused with strength and purity, filled with confidence in the presence of God our Father when our Master Jesus arrives with all his followers.

I talk in depth about unleashing your creative side in many areas.  I even share some cool spontaneous recording with my keyboard and vocals.  I then give six tips on being creative.

God created us Creative!

My muse is Jesus.

Six Tips on unleashing creativity:

1.  Overcome the fear of failure. (looking stupid, unc0mfortable etc.)  What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
2.  Gather the tools to enhance your talent and dream. (software, notebooks, instruments, etc.)
3.  Practice and don’t be afraid to fail, get back up and keep going.  That is the creative process. Experiment!
*It’s the little things we do everyday that makes up the big success.
4.  Create a place to create-  find a place to experiment and create.
5.  Have the guts to share it with others.  Your creation needs an audience.
6.  Don’t be afraid of the critics.

Chapter 2 of 1st Thessalonians (Message)

^1-2So, friends, it’s obvious that our visit to you was no waste of time. We had just been given rough treatment in Philippi, as you know, but that didn’t slow us down. We were sure of ourselves in God, and went right ahead and said our piece, presenting God’s Message to you, defiant of the opposition.

No Hidden Agendas

 ^3-5God tested us thoroughly to make sure we were qualified to be trusted with this Message. Be assured that when we speak to you we’re not after crowd approval—only God approval. Since we’ve been put through that battery of tests, you’re guaranteed that both we and the Message are free of error, mixed motives, or hidden agendas. We never used words to butter you up. No one knows that better than you. And God knows we never used words as a smoke screen to take advantage of you.

 ^6-8Even though we had some standing as Christ’s apostles, we never threw our weight around or tried to come across as important, with you or anyone else. We weren’t aloof with you. We took you just as you were. We were never patronizing, never condescending, but we cared for you the way a mother cares for her children. We loved you dearly. Not content to just pass on the Message, we wanted to give you our hearts. And we did.

 ^9-12You remember us in those days, friends, working our fingers to the bone, up half the night, moonlighting so you wouldn’t have the burden of supporting us while we proclaimed God’s Message to you. You saw with your own eyes how discreet and courteous we were among you, with keen sensitivity to you as fellow believers. And God knows we weren’t freeloaders! You experienced it all firsthand. With each of you we were like a father with his child, holding your hand, whispering encouragement, showing you step-by-step how to live well before God, who called us into his own kingdom, into this delightful life.

 ¹³And now we look back on all this and thank God, an artesian well of thanks! When you got the Message of God we preached, you didn’t pass it off as just one more human opinion, but you took it to heart as God’s true word to you, which it is, God himself at work in you believers!

 ^14-16Friends, do you realize that you followed in the exact footsteps of the churches of God in Judea, those who were the first to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ? You got the same bad treatment from your countrymen as they did from theirs, the Jews who killed the Master Jesus (to say nothing of the prophets) and followed it up by running us out of town. They make themselves offensive to God and everyone else by trying to keep us from telling people who’ve never heard of our God how to be saved. They’ve made a career of opposing God, and have gotten mighty good at it. But God is fed up, ready to put an end to it.

 ^17-20Do you have any idea how very homesick we became for you, dear friends? Even though it hadn’t been that long and it was only our bodies that were separated from you, not our hearts, we tried our very best to get back to see you. You can’t imagine how much we missed you! I, Paul, tried over and over to get back, but Satan stymied us each time. Who do you think we’re going to be proud of when our Master Jesus appears if it’s not you? You’re our pride and joy!

1st Thessalonians Chapter 1 from the New Living Translation

¹ This letter is from Paul, Silas,^[a] and Timothy.

   We are writing to the church in Thessalonica, to you who belong to God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

   May God give you grace and peace.

The Faith of the Thessalonian Believers

 ² We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. ³ As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ.

 ⁴ We know, dear brothers and sisters,^[b] that God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people. ⁵ For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance^[c] that what we said was true. And you know of our concern for you from the way we lived when we were with you. ⁶ So you received the message with joy from the Holy Spirit in spite of the severe suffering it brought you. In this way, you imitated both us and the Lord. ⁷ As a result, you have become an example to all the believers in Greece—throughout both Macedonia and Achaia.^[d]

 ⁸ And now the word of the Lord is ringing out from you to people everywhere, even beyond Macedonia and Achaia, for wherever we go we find people telling us about your faith in God. We don’t need to tell them about it, ⁹ for they keep talking about the wonderful welcome you gave us and how you turned away from idols to serve the living and true God. ¹⁰ And they speak of how you are looking forward to the coming of God’s Son from heaven—Jesus, whom God raised from the dead. He is the one who has rescued us from the terrors of the coming judgment.

So do I reccomend the movie?   You will have to listen!  🙂  
It is rated R because of its very gory violence and excessive use of the F word.

Spiritually dark, District 9 pulls on the moral heart strings.

This week I read Proverbs Chapter 9 from the Message Bible

^1-6Lady Wisdom has built and furnished her home; it’s supported by seven hewn timbers.
The banquet meal is ready to be served: lamb roasted,
   wine poured out, table set with silver and flowers.
Having dismissed her serving maids,
   Lady Wisdom goes to town, stands in a prominent place,
   and invites everyone within sound of her voice:
“Are you confused about life, don’t know what’s going on?
   Come with me, oh come, have dinner with me!
I’ve prepared a wonderful spread—fresh-baked bread,
   roast lamb, carefully selected wines.
Leave your impoverished confusion and live!
   Walk up the street to a life with meaning.”

 ^7-12 If you reason with an arrogant cynic, you’ll get slapped in the face;
   confront bad behavior and get a kick in the shins.
So don’t waste your time on a scoffer;
   all you’ll get for your pains is abuse.
But if you correct those who care about life,
   that’s different—they’ll love you for it!
Save your breath for the wise—they’ll be wiser for it;
   tell good people what you know—they’ll profit from it.
Skilled living gets its start in the Fear-of-God,
   insight into life from knowing a Holy God.
It’s through me, Lady Wisdom, that your life deepens,
   and the years of your life ripen.
Live wisely and wisdom will permeate your life;
   mock life and life will mock you.

Madame Whore Calls Out, Too

 ^13-18 Then there’s this other woman, Madame Whore—
   brazen, empty-headed, frivolous.
She sits on the front porch
   of her house on Main Street,
And as people walk by minding
   their own business, calls out,

   No one will ever know—I’ll give you the time of your life.”
But they don’t know about all the skeletons in her closet,

O.M.G.  Myth-Busting Jesus

This week I talk about who Jesus is according to the Bible.

I then talk about who Jesus was, is and will be.  You need to listen into the podcast.  I think you will get a lot out of it.

The reason Jesus came was to hook us back up to God.  Adam and Eve sunk it for us, and Jesus rescued us. 🙂

MYTHS-Busted by the Bible
Jesus and Satan were brothers.  NOPE.
Jesus is Buddha, Allah, etc.  NOPE
Jesus was created.   NOPE
Jesus didn’t raise from the dead, they stole his body.  NOPE
Jesus was a tall pasty looking guy with a lamb around his neck.  NOPE
Jesus was very harsh on everbody.  NOPE  only on the religious folks.

Believing in Jesus is the best thing you can ever do. IMO. 🙂
